Focused Initiatives
Economic Development
For too long, many hardworking communities across Alabama have been left behind while growth and investment flowed elsewhere. Families deserve more than promises—they deserve opportunities. One of the tools already available to help create jobs, encourage business growth, and attract private investment is the Opportunity Zone program. David Perry knows we need to do more to educate our citizens about these opportunities and explore ways to expand them into additional underserved and economically distressed communities that have been overlooked for far too long.
Public Safety
Public safety is one of the most important responsibilities of government. Families should be able to raise their children, operate their businesses, attend church, and enjoy their neighborhoods without living in fear of crime. Across Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, we have communities filled with hardworking people who want a better future, but rising crime continues to stand in the way of growth and opportunity. If we are serious about improving our communities, then public safety must be a priority.
Better Education
Every child deserves access to a quality education, regardless of their ZIP code. The future of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District depends on the opportunities we provide our students today. While school choice has become a major topic in education discussions, choice only works when families have strong options to choose from. Our focus should also be on strengthening the schools that serve our communities every day and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Increase in Mental Services for the Public
The health of a community is measured by more than its roads, businesses, or infrastructure—it is also measured by the well-being of its people. Across Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, many families face challenges that often go unseen. The effects of crime, violence, poverty, and instability can leave lasting emotional and psychological scars. If we want to build safer, stronger communities, we must also address the mental and emotional health needs of the people who live there.
